The establishment ceremony of International School of Information Science & Engineering, Dalian University of Technology and Ritsumeikan University (DUT-RUISE) and the opening ceremonyfor Class 2014 were held at the library hall of the Development Zone Campus in the morning of September 9th.DUT-RUISE is the first Sino-Japan cooperatively-run school at undergraduate higher education level,and it initiated the cooperative operation on education of academic diploma level between China and Japan.

Chairman of Ritsumeikan University,professorNagata Toyoomiwelcomed the arrival of Class 2014students andexpressed thanks for the support from all communities.He said DUT-RUISE initiated the cooperative operation on education of academic diploma level between China and Japan, and it was an opportunity as well as a challenge. Together with DUT, Ritsumeikan University will be committed to the improving of the level and quality of teaching, and to cultivate more high-level talents with international vision. He hoped that all communitieswould continue to support the development of the school, and sincerely wished there would be more cooperation and exchange in the future.
PresidentGuo thanked all communitiesfor the support of the construction and development of the university on behalf of DUT.He believed that this cooperation would make an important contribution to the cultivation of high-level software talents with international vision.

DUT-RUISEhas recruited 100 students for the first year,asapproved by the State Ministry of Education. Our goal is to cultivate the talents who have a solid foundation of engineering practical abilities and are good at Chinese, Japanese and English in the face of the need of the information industry.
