On February 20, the DUT-RU ISE officially started the 2023 spring semester. Prof. Fan Xin, Dean of DUT-RU ISE, took a lead to welcome the students back for the new semester, auditing classes and supervising teaching. Accompanied by the school leaders Lin Lin and Xin Yongliang, as well as teaching assistants and administrators, he got to know the students’ condition of taking classes, learned the needs for teaching, and elevated the central role of talent cultivation.

Courses in the new semester have fully resumed offline teaching in a good order. The teachers were fully-prepared, full of energy in activating the classes. Students showed high attendance, listened carefully, and interacted with good morale. Teaching facilities and services were also in good place.

On February 19, the day before the launching of the semester, our school convened the 2023 Spring Semester Teacher Conference attended by all the teachers to further improve teaching quality monitoring and guarantee system as well as the quality of class teaching. Lin Lin, Deputy Dean, who is in charge of teaching, introduced the key points of teaching work in the new semester in five aspects: course teaching, examination management, employment of teaching assistants, graduation-related work, and teaching project application, which deepened the teachers’ understanding of the requirements. Lin put forward the measures of being “comprehensive, strict and solid” in class teaching. Being comprehensive means to face all the students, care for students comprehensively, and educate students in an all-round way during the whole process. Being strict means to maintain strict self-discipline, ensure attendance, prevent late arrival or early departure, and avoid teaching accidents. Being solid means to clarify the course requirements and assessment standards to students, and conduct solid class preparation, teaching, and assessment.
